The issue:
This one really isn't an issue, jut a bit of a
nuisance. there's really two things here. One is the fact that the fender bolts like to
back out, becoming hopelessly lost in the trail of roost you left on that last knobby
shredding ride.
The other is that most, if not all, BRPs come from the factory with the fender
pre-tweaked to the left. Some cases are extreme enough to allow the tire to rub on the silencer under full compression.
More of an annoyance than anything else.

The Fix:
The fix here is pretty simple on both counts.
The loose bolts is the easiest, just dab some rtv (silicone) over the bolt heads to hold
them in place. DO NOT USE LOC-TITE! The thread-serts are a soft brass or the likeness
crimped into the aluminum subframe. Locking them will strip them out. Same thing applies for
shroud and side cover bolts. It'd be a shame to spend 190 bucks to replace a .05 thread-sert.
The fix for the oem "tweak" is a large 2x4 or steel bar,
used to bend stuff where you think it should be, or, just leave it alone! |
